April 27th, 2019

EVENT

Michele Lamassa, who lives and works in Locarno, will create a large-format wallpainting in the courtyard of the Galleria SACCHETTI. The event allows visitors to appreciate an artistic technique that has apparently become obsolete.

EVENT: 3rd of Mai, from 4pm until the work is completed around 10pm
SUPPLEMENT: The Galleria SACCHETTI exhibits a “detached” work by the artist until the month of June 2019.

Michael Schuster I vernissage 26th of April 2019

April 6th, 2019

EXHIBITION

The Galleria SACCHETTI shows for the first time in Ticino works by the German artist Michael Schuster. Dried and pressed sycamore leaves serve as the material for Schuster’s artistic work. Using a scalpel, he carefully and expertly cuts out figurative silhouettes from single leaves, which are then applied to paper or assembled in the form of wall installations. Thematically, Schuster deals with the preservation and retention of memories. His cut-outs are based on photographs, including snapshots from his family album, which he transforms from the personal into the universal, bringing them to life in another medium, shifted in time and space. Schuster lives and works in Berlin.

During the vernissage, Erry & Kenzo will perform music with the guitar and the hang.

VERNISSAGE: 26th of April, from 6pm to 8pm, with the presence of the artist
DURATION: from 27th of April until 22nd of June

Maximilian Verhas I vernissage 26th of April 2019

April 5th, 2019

EXHIBITION

The Galleria SACCHETTI shows for the first time in Ticino works by the German artist Maximilian Verhas. Since 1985, the Berlin-based sculptor Verhas has created works in bronze, which he calls rolling bodies. By gently hitting on a smooth surface, Verhas’ abstract sculptures can be set in motion. The inherent possibility of localized change in the sculptures and the associated polydirectional visibility determine their aesthetic value. Due to the continuous variations in point of view, the viewer’s perception is stimulated and the limited understanding of sculptural works is overcome.

During the vernissage, Erry & Kenzo will perform music with the guitar and the hang.

VERNISSAGE: 26th of April, from 6pm to 8pm, with the presence of the artist
DURATION: from 27th of April until 22nd of June
