Peer Boehm I Opening 6 June 2020

May 30th, 2020

The Galleria SACCHETTI is delighted to be the first to show works by the Cologne artist Peer Boehm in Switzerland. His paintings and drawings revolve around the subject of the fragmentary perception of reality or the memory of what has been seen and experienced. The artist uses photographic templates taken from the Internet or albums bought at flea markets. Boehm reduces the photographs on the computer to the extent that the motif is formed by light-dark contrasts. He translates this change, using acrylic, watercolor, pen or ink, but also coffee or rust, onto canvas and paper, whereby original maps and nautical charts or accounting documents serve as image carriers.

OPENING: 6 June, from 10am to 4pm, with the presence of the artist
DURATION: from 6 June until 15 August

Christian Verginer I New Works

May 30th, 2020

Christian Verginer creates fascinatingly detailed sculptures and relief-like works made of basswood. Glued panels form the basis of his figures, which the artist models in elaborate manual work with traditional tools such as chisels and files. Verginer looks at the relationship between humankind and nature. He evokes a loving and caring attitude towards nature, kindling feelings of empathy and protection.

Maximilian Verhas I New Works

May 30th, 2020

Since 1985 the sculptor Maximilian Verhas has created works in bronze and white bronze, which he describes as rolling bodies. By gently hitting on a smooth surface, Verhas’ abstract sculptures can be set in motion. Calculated by the artist, they roll in a certain rhythm over their convex or concave curved running edges and open themselves in rotation to the viewer from all sides. Verhas’ sculptural work breaks with the traditional character of a sculpture: it transforms from a passive, static object into a moving element.

Petra Gabriele Dannehl I Artist’s Estate

May 30th, 2020

We deeply regret to inform you that the artist Petra Gabriele Dannehl (1948-2020) has died after a serious illness at the end of January. Petra Gabriele Dannehl, who lived in Hamburg, was closely connected with the Galleria SACCHETTI for over ten years and was able to fascinate visitors with her paintings.

The artist leaves behind a unique oeuvre. In her paintings – which are characterized by an extraordinary painting technique – the focal point is mankind. The figures in Petra Gabriele Dannehl’s paintings move between the realms of reality and dream and are defined through a conscious blurring of their attitude and movement in abstract space and context.

Petra Gabriele Dannehl’s family assigned Galleria SACCHETTI to take care of the administration, maintenance and marketing of the estate.

Mario Dilitz I New Works

May 30th, 2020

The ability to give expression to the human form, to transmit and translate its language is an ability, which the sculptor Mario Dilitz definitely has. He combines traditional sculptural knowledge and technical skills with contemporary issues and thereby manages to create sculptures of great intensity and appeal.
